As I've been getting more and more down the computers rabbit hole, I've now found myself wanting to host and deploy a server to the wider web, so I can host game servers and Nextcloud in order to have a personal cloud service for myself, however, as I've recently discovered, my internet provider is doing a
Carrier-grade NAT and so, I cannot open up my server to anyone :(.
I personally have thought of either just paying for an ipv6 and a domain (because ipv6 are kinda hell to remember) on some site and go from there OR using a VPN networking service and have that as a proxy.
And so my post goes, what are ideas around this particular topic? have you deployed servers in this fashion? whats a fun distro to server with? (I am using Debian 12 on my mom's old laptop from like 10-12 years ago lmao)
